Who we are
Willmore Iles Architects Ltd is an RIBA Chartered Architectural Practice with a strong track record in producing successful schemes for our clients that are informed by context, aim to maximise opportunities and are guided by the principle of sustainable design.
Willmore Iles Architects are at the forefront of developments in the purpose-designed student accommodation sector and have been the architects for some of the largest new build schemes for UK Universities, including the 2000 bedroom campus redevelopment at the University of Exeter and the 2500 new bedroom on-campus student village at the University of Hertfordshire.
We have built up a reputation with universities and third-party providers as an expert architectural practice in the sector, completing over 10,000 student bedrooms with a further 3,500 bedrooms in development. Our reputation for innovation continues with one of our latest projects, the UK’s first True Zero Carbon and BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ halls at the University of Hertfordshire.
All three directors at the practice are involved on a day-to-day basis throughout the design and implementation of schemes for our clients. Each project has allocated key personnel, including a project architect and a project director who ensure the continuity of a high quality of service throughout the project from feasibility to completion on site and building in use.
We work closely with the construction team during the design and implementation process, ensuring that the design supports the sometimes complex phasing and decanting programmes required when working on ‘live sites’. The practice has pioneered new construction methodologies for student accommodation and has great links throughout the critical supply chain. We are proud of our record of delivering schemes to programme and on budget.
