As Masterplanner, Lead Designer and Architect, Willmore Iles Architects worked alongside Habitat First Group and the wider consultant team to develop the concept, spatial strategy and architectural design for the project, helping transform years of ideas, sketches and design development into a completed destination.
Set on the edge of Firefly Lake, the project brings together a 25m outdoor pool, spa facilities, lakeside dining and outdoor wellness experiences within a carefully considered landscape setting. Designed around the relationship between water, nature and hospitality, Firefly creates a seamless journey between relaxation, wellbeing and social experiences.
From the earliest concept stages, the focus was on creating a destination that supports community, encourages connection to nature and delivers an exceptional visitor experience, while also responding to the practical and operational requirements of a successful hospitality business.
@Habitat First Group
“Demand for wellness experiences that feel genuinely restorative and connected to nature continues to grow, particularly as more travellers seek slower, outdoor-led escapes closer to home. Firefly Spa represents our largest investment across Habitat First Group to date and marks an important milestone in the estate’s long-term evolution. We wanted to create something that feels entirely different from a traditional spa experience – somewhere guests move between lake water, heat, cold therapy and open skies, leaving guests feeling both invigorated and deeply restored.”
Red Paxton, CEO, Habitat First Group
Having worked alongside Habitat First Group on the wider Silverlake masterplan for many years, it is particularly rewarding to see Firefly open its doors and become part of the growing Silverlake community.
We look forward to seeing the destination enjoyed by residents, members and visitors for many years to come.
