Since joining Willmore Iles Architects as Architectural Assistant in 2006, I have worked on a variety of residential and commercial projects, and for the last fifteen years have led the delivery of some of our largest student projects. I lead our on-campus PBSA sector, focusing on supporting our developer and higher education clients by adding value across all stages of the project.
I have a strong interest in the efficient management of competitive bid work and the technical application of conceptual design to facilitate a smooth transition from planning to on-site execution. My experience in the student accommodation sector, particularly with our on-campus projects, has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the needs of various stakeholders throughout the design and construction process. This knowledge instils confidence in handling design, economic, and statutory matters while fostering trust among all parties involved.
I have a particular interest in advocating for inclusive environments, having completed Accessibility Auditing training and mentoring colleagues on best practice. As an Accredited Passivhaus Designer since 2021, I ensure that our projects, like the Exeter West Park development, balance practicality with aesthetics and environmental performance.
An avid local sports enthusiast, I recently retired as Chairman of a large grassroots football club and still coach a senior team and a pan-disability team. I even get the boots out occasionally, playing for a Vets team (although I feel like I am getting too old for that too)! Most weekends, you’ll be able to find me either standing on the side of a sports pitch or hiking with my wife and dogs.
