There is nothing like facing fears you didn’t know you had when taking on a new challenge. Last Tuesday we had a go at bouldering; a different type of problem-solving exercise, but a very challenging and engaging one. We put our physical and mental boundaries to the test, had a great workout and an amazing time!

A couple of tips we learned, which could be just as useful in the day job:

  • Health & safety comes first – check equipment provided.
  • Keep attention to the task at hand – one step at a time, no matter how small.
  • Keep breathing and take frequent breaks.
  • Don’t forget to use your legs.
  • Keep your chin up and don’t look down.
  • If you fall that’s okay, you can try again.
  • If you are falling, you haven’t been falling for as long as you think.
  • Watching others do it is just as fun and very tempting (don’t do it for too long).

Having survived this with no broken bones and our morale high, we would definitely do this again. Thank you EOT!
