In collaboration with our longstanding client, Habitat First Group (HFG), WIA designed and secured planning permission for the Silverlake Lido and Restaurant in the summer of 2024, an innovative wellness destination that responds to its natural setting.  Progress on the Dorset Spa and Lido at Silverlake continues to impress.

With completion scheduled for 2026, both the changing room and Restaurant structures are now standing, and internal works are moving forward at pace. MEP installations are currently underway throughout the buildings.

Conceived as a communal destination for Silverlake residents and the local community, the Dorset Spa will centre around a courtyard pool that opens onto views of the lake and the natural landscape beyond.

The changing rooms are nearly fully clad, and roof finishes and rooflights have been installed, flooding the interiors with natural light.

During our recent site visit, we connected with the project team to discuss the latest developments and coordinate the path forward.

Our latest site visit revealed exciting progress on the Restaurant building. The internal VCM lining is complete, and battens for the interior finishes are now being installed.

Seeing the spaces at full scale brought the design to life in a way drawings simply can’t capture. The building’s spatial qualities are starting to emerge, and it’s rewarding to witness the architecture taking physical form.

Over the coming months, the interiors will truly come into their own, showcasing both the dynamism of the spaces and the quality we’ve worked to achieve in the design. The kitchen fit-out and window installation are set to begin in the coming months.

We walked through the building alongside the Site, Operations, and Design Managers, discussing the next phases of construction and how Willmore Iles can continue providing detailed design support and responding to on-site queries as they arise.

This project continues to be incredibly exciting, and we look forward to sharing more updates as it develops.
